How to know when to bring in help

We understand - you’ve been running things solo and have contemplated bringing in help, but what if it’s not the right time? Is it the next step your business needs?

Here are 5 ways to know if bringing in help is the next step you need:

1.You frequently find yourself overwhelmed by your to-do list.

None of us function well in times of burnout. If you feel constantly overwhelmed with too much to do, outsourcing a few tasks each week to a virtual assistant could drastically change not just your work - but your life in general!

2. You have great ideas to improve + grow but no time to start pursuing them.

This often leads to frustration and consistently feeling behind. If you have great ideas to improve your business and aren’t pursuing them in some way or another, it will have an effect on your business and most of all – your customers' experience with your business. New growth and improvement is a key part of a life giving business that others will be drawn to.

3. You have to turn down valuable clients or projects because of a lack of capacity.

This is perhaps the greatest tragedy in a business - you have worked hard and are thriving in your work, but suddenly it’s too much for you to handle and you have to start saying no. You need to decide if you want to continue as a solo business and be okay with a cap on your business, or if you want to find creative ways to grow and expand. Bringing in a few hours of help per week could give you the freedom to say yes to a couple of new clients or projects which will in turn be more than worth the investment of that help.

4. You feel isolated in your business + wish you could brainstorm with someone.

This is a very common problem for small business owners and can kill so much of the joy in your work. We were made to thrive better together and simply having a friend who knows your business well and can share ideas or listen to yours can be of great value in the growth and strength of your business.

5. Your business is thriving but you feel unenthusiastic about work + are lacking momentum.

Again, we’re meant to thrive better together. If you work is going well but you seem to have lost the enthusiasm you had in the beginning, maybe you need a friend in your work who can help you move forward and get unstuck. Sometimes all it takes is another’s perspective and input to get you back in the game.

If you resonate with any of these points, it might be time to reach out for some help. We always suggest starting small. Perhaps an hour or two a week is all that you need to move forward!
